Alejandro “Alex” Méndez Castillo, born October 22, 1982, in San José, Costa Rica, is a seasoned audiovisual fixer covering all of Central America. He began his career as a journalist and photojournalist for La Nación, reporting on social and environmental issues across the region. His work built a strong network of local contacts, from community leaders to government officials. In 2016, he joined the Brama Hub as a fixer and logistics guide, coordinating complex shoots in multiple countries for the BBC, Netflix, and Discovery Channel. Skilled in cross-border logistics and on-location safety, he thrives in diverse environments—from urban streets to remote jungles and archaeological sites. trilingual, resourceful, and culturally astute, Alex has become an indispensable partner for international crews filming in Central America.
