Marc Turrel has a great knowledge of the country, his history, and has created a deep link with his culture, people and society.
Marc Turrel, is a french editor, author, and historian, has published eight works in France, Switzerland, Germany, and Chile on the French presence and the pioneers of glaciology in Chile, as well as on both sporting and scientific mountaineering in South America: Les 400 de Disputada, Histoire de l'exploitation du cuivre à Los Bronces, El Soldado et Chagres (2025); Galerie des illustres, Trois siècles de présence française au Chili (2021); Louis Lliboutry, L'Homme qui déchiffra les glaciers (2019); Hielos en peligro (2019); Louis Lliboutry, Le Champollion des glaces (2017); Frédéric et Dorly Marmillod, Tagebuch der Anden (2016); Carnets des Andes (2015); and Le ski au Chili (2005).
He is the Vice President of the Napoleonic Foundation of Chile, the national delegate of the Souvenir Français, and an advisor to the French Embassy in Chile.
